Our regular membership meetings are hybrid in person and Zoom meeting on the 2nd Saturday of every month, except June, July, August and December. An interesting program is usually scheduled to be presented by local rail photgrapher or rail historian. Topics range from contemporary railroading in Minnesota, the midwest and the world to the history of street railways and more!
The in-person portion of the meeting will be held at Roseville Lutheran Church. See the Northstar News for directions and / or ZOOM meeting information.
In addition to our regular membership meetings our summer activities usually include three field trips. In June we usually visit a transit-related facility. In July we typically hold our annual picnic along in a park along a busy mainline railroad in the area. August has featured a visit to an operating museum to enjoy a train ride. Everyone is welcome to joins us at all of our meetings and field trips whether or not you are an NRHS member! Please join us for our meetings and our summer outings 2025. You are certain to enjoy the camaraderie and programs!
If you answered yes to any of these questions ... The Northstar Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society is for you!!!
Whether you are interested in the early days of wood-fired 4-4-0's and clerestory-roofed passenger cars, narrow-gauge teakettles working in the back woods or on mountain slopes, luxury passenger trains with names like Hiawatha and Empire Builder, or the modern containers-and-computers world of today's railroading, the Northstar Chapter has something for you!
We are a diverse group of people who share a common interest: the love of railroading. Our activities, publications and meetings reflect and build on this interest. If this sounds like the kind of active, vibrant and growing railfan organization you would like to be part of, please join us today!
